Scheme tour “Bulgaria in a week”

On this trip may perform a sightseeing tour in Bulgaria in a week , They may cross one of the most emblematic mountains of the Balkan Peninsula: the Central Balkan mountain range and visit some impressive natural phenomena as rivers Bulgaria, mountains, etc…

For this trip we reserve the accommodations and Spanish speaking driver is responsible for road transfers, also it helps travelers with the language in hotels, restaurants, etc… and provide information about the sights to be visiting.

DETAILED SCHEDULE.

Day 1:
Air travel arrival to the capital, Sofia. Pickup group at the airport and transfer to hotel. Then I walk through the center of Sofia, administrative capital, visit the enormous Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the hot springs of public use in the center of the city and walk through its lively streets. Dinner and overnight in hotel 3*** Sofia.

Day 2:
We depart by road to the city of Plovdiv 143 km ( 1 h 45 min. approximately motorway). Accommodation . En Plovdiv, guided tour of the city. The history of the city dates from Plovdiv 6.000 BC, It is the oldest inhabited city in Europe, more than Athens and Rome, even, and older than Istanbul. There you can visit the famous Old Town with its Renaissance style houses nineteenth-century Bulgarian, the amphitheater and Roman ruins, Ottoman Mosque, etc. Plovdiv is declared European City of Culture 2019. We will make a walking tour in the morning, After lunch free time for travelers to rest, keep watching the city at leisure or shopping. Dinner and then overnight in hotel 3*** the center of the city of Plovdiv, ideal for touring the city on foot.

Day 3:
In the morning after breakfast we left the hotel and after a short transfer 28 km (35 minutes) arrived at the Orthodox Monastery of Bachkovo is second in size and importance of Bulgaria ( the first is the Rila Monastery, we can also visit the end of the tour).

After transfer to the center of the country to the town of Kazanlak (138 km, 1 h 50 min) located in known as "Valley of Roses" by the wide expanse of growing roses in this area.
In Kazanlak you can visit the Museo de la Rosa, dedicated to the history and production of rose oil for cosmetics and food (Bulgaria is the world's largest producer). Hotel accommodation 3*** outside Kazanlak, dinner and overnight.

Day 4:
In the morning we can know the Thracian Tomb of Kazanlak, UNESCO World Heritage (scale copy visit 1:1 of the original which is closed to ensure their conservation). The guide will explain who were the Thracians in this unique place, a mausoleum in honor of a Thracian king dating from the fourth century A.C..

Leaving Kazanlak we go into the mountains of the Central Balkan, but we will stop to see the Church of Shipka, known as the Church “Russian” Shipka their churches like the famous Russian aesthetics. It was built in tribute to Russia for the assistance provided to Bulgaria to free themselves from Ottoman occupation in the late nineteenth century.

 

After visiting Shipka continue by road between green, wooded mountains to reach the village of Bozhentsi architecture typical Bulgarian ( a 60 km, 1 h 20 Did you also Kazanlak). Dinner and overnight at Hotel 3*** estilo rural de Bozhentsi. The hotel has a restaurant-covered terrace, ideal for outdoor dining tasting typical Bulgarian recipes.

 

 

Day 5:
After breakfast at hotel, amid the tranquility of this typical village, short walk through the village of Bozhentsi which is a town that seems frozen in time, the time of the nineteenth century, with its cobbled streets and houses with roofs of large slates. More of 100 houses are preserved in their original form and some can be visited as a museum.

After this tour transfer to the city of Veliko Tarnovo to 45 km, 50 min. Once there first will visit the architectural reserve of Tsarevets, an impressive walled fortress of the XII century medieval style of the time when Veliko Tarnovo was the capital of Bulgaria. The driver will stop at the main entrance of the fortress to come directly on foot and visit their air, the output will be waiting to take a walk through the center of Veliko Tarnovo, eat and go by road to the neighboring village of Arbanassi. Day 6:
In the morning I walk in Arbanassi to know its old houses, that they were owned by wealthy merchants in the seventeenth century and now some can be visited as a museum-houses.

After transfer to the center of the Central Balkan Mountains to visit the Monastery of Troyan (104 km, 1 h 26 min), the third largest in the country and in our opinion the most beautiful for its well-preserved old building.

Short transfer to the village of Chiflik (14 km, 20 min) where you can stay in a hotel with outdoor pool hot spring water (unchlorinated), where you can swim at any time and at any time of year because the pool is filled with natural thermal water. Dinner and overnight in hotel 3***.

Day 7.
After breakfast transfer to the town of Koprivshtitsa (90 km, 1h 50 min) through the mountain from north to south. Day 8 (optional).
If you have an extra day to travel to Bulgaria, because flights are usually on specific days of the week, for example from Saturday to Saturday or Sunday to Sunday, etc…, then they can make a trip 8 days and take advantage to see the Rila Monastery is the most famous exponent of orthodox monasteries in Bulgaria.
